Terms of service
VERSION 2026.09.3 · IN FORCE FROM
In plain words
These terms cover the Scrap Racket website, its Rust servers and its memberships. Play by the rules, sign in with your own Steam account, and expect servers to restart, wipe and change. Memberships are sold by Tebex and buy convenience and cosmetics, never an advantage and never an exception to the rules.
This summary is here to be readable. Where it and the document below disagree, the document is what applies.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Scrap Racket is run by a sole trader under the name Scrap Racket. In these terms "we" means the operator and "you" means anyone using the service.
The service is the website at scrapracket.uk, the Scrap Racket Rust servers and the memberships sold for them. By using any of them you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
The privacy policy, the refund policy and the rules are part of these terms.
2. Not Facepunch, not Valve
Scrap Racket is an independent community server network. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or run by Facepunch Studios, who make Rust, or Valve, who run Steam.
Their own terms apply to the game and to your Steam account. We cannot change them, and we cannot act for Facepunch or Valve.
3. Who may use the service
- You must be 16 or over.
- You must play on your own Steam account, in line with Steam’s terms.
- To buy a membership you must be 18 or over, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who is responsible for the payment.
- You must not be barred from using the service by a ban under the rules or by the law where you live.
4. Your account
There is no Scrap Racket password. You sign in through Steam, which tells us your SteamID; we then look up the public name and avatar Steam shows for it. Steam sign-in identifies the account; it is not a Rust ownership check.
You are responsible for keeping your Steam account secure and for what happens on it, including when someone else was using it. Staff never ask for your Steam password or a login code.
You can link one Discord account to your Scrap Racket account from your account page, and a Discord account can be linked to only one Scrap Racket account. Linking is optional; what it stores, and how to remove it, is in the privacy policy.
5. Conduct
The rules apply on every Scrap Racket server and in the Scrap Racket Discord. They say what is and is not the game.
On the website and around the servers, you must not:
- try to get into the control panel, the database, the game servers’ remote console or anyone else’s account;
- overload, attack or probe the website or the servers, or collect data from them automatically at a rate that affects other people;
- use the service to break the law or someone else’s rights.
6. Enforcement, bans and appeals
Moderators enforce the rules. They can warn, mute, kick, ban for a time or ban permanently, and remove names, signs and other content that breaks the rules. How that works, and what skips straight to a ban, is in the rules.
A ban applies to the person, not only to the account. A membership does not protect anyone from enforcement, and nobody can pay their way out of a ban.
If you think a ban was wrong, appeal it. An appeal is judged against the rules version in force when the ban was issued. What a ban means for a membership you have paid for is in the refund policy.
7. Memberships
Supporter, VIP and VIP+ are monthly subscriptions. They are sold through Tebex, which is the merchant of record: Tebex takes the payment under its own checkout terms, and handles billing, renewals, cancellation and refunds.
A membership buys convenience, cosmetics, status and queue priority, as listed for each tier on the store together with where each benefit works. It never buys items, Scrap, damage, protection or raid power, and it never buys an exception to the rules.
- Benefits go to the SteamID you confirm at checkout. Check it before paying.
- Some benefits depend on the game servers or Discord. When one of them is slow to catch up, the membership stays active and the benefit arrives when it does.
- A Discord role arrives only on a Discord account you have linked, and only while that account is in the Scrap Racket Discord.
- If we remove a benefit during a period you have paid for, we will say so on the website, and you can ask for a refund for the rest of that period.
8. Servers, wipes and progress
The servers are run on a best-effort basis. We do not promise that any server will be online, reachable, free of lag or open at all, and we can restart, change, merge or close a server.
Maps wipe on the schedule published on the wipes page, and schedules can change. A wipe removes bases, items and progress, and any of them can also be lost at another time through a crash, a rollback or a bug. Staff do not restore lost items.
Scrap and everything else in the game have no money value. They cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and they are not your property.
What the website shows — population, status, wipe times, leaderboards — is shown as it was last measured. It can be out of date, and where it could not be measured it says Unknown.
9. Our content and yours
The Scrap Racket name, logo, website design and text belong to the operator. Rust and its assets belong to Facepunch Studios, and Steam to Valve. You may share links, screenshots and videos of your play.
Names, clan tags, signs, paintings, chat and anything else you create on the service stay yours. You give us permission to store it, show it on the servers and the website — your name on the leaderboards and in the activity feed, for example — and remove it, for as long as that is needed to run the service. Do not create anything that breaks the rules or someone else’s rights.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.
Within those limits:
- we are not liable for lost in-game items, bases, Scrap, progress or statistics;
- we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of something we did wrong;
- we are not liable for outages or changes at Steam, Tebex, Discord, Cloudflare or Facepunch;
- our total liability to you for anything to do with a membership is limited to what you paid for memberships in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time. Cancel a membership in the Tebex payment portal, and ask for your data to be deleted as the privacy policy describes.
We can suspend or end your access for breaking these terms or the rules. We can also close the service. If we do, we will say so on the website beforehand where we can, and memberships stop renewing; what happens to a paid period is in the refund policy.
12. Changes to these terms
A change to these terms is a new version with its own date. Older versions are kept, because what you agreed to is the version that was in force at the time.
We announce a significant change on the website at least 14 days before it applies, unless the law or the security of the service needs it sooner. Using the service after a change applies means accepting the new version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live and can bring a claim in your own courts.
