Common problems
I cannot connect to a server
Open the server page, press "Copy & show instructions", then in Rust press F1 and paste the command. The command uses a hostname rather than an IP, so it keeps working when a server moves. If the console reports a timeout, the server may be restarting after a wipe — check the status page.
Do my blueprints wipe?
No scheduled BP wipes. Blueprints persist between monthly map wipes unless Facepunch requires a reset, and an exceptional reset is always announced with a stated reason on the wipe calendar.
What actually wipes each month?
The map, inventories, bases and entities, the physical Scrap you are carrying, and your Exchange spend counters and tiers. Blueprints do not.
Does the website hold any Scrap for me?
No. Scrap is physical inventory inside Rust — it is carried, it can be stolen in a raid, and it wipes with the map. This website never holds it for you and has no way to spend it.
Can money buy anything that helps me win?
No. Money buys convenience, cosmetics, status and queue priority. It never buys raid power, items, resources, damage, protection, or immunity from a bounty or a prison sentence.
Someone put a bounty on me — is that fair?
Funding a contract costs the buyer physical Scrap and is never refunded. It cannot be funded on their own team. On themselves it can, but a suicide never pays, and only the killing blow pays, once. Being Wanted does not change ordinary PvP.
I was caught and sent to the Holding Facility
Your corpse and loot stayed where you died — the sentence is not a refund and nothing was taken from you by the facility. The cell cannot be raided, damaged or looted. You leave on parole, during which nobody can fund a new contract on you.
Why does a server show UNKNOWN instead of a player count?
Because the monitor has not measured it. Unknown is not offline: the server may be perfectly healthy. A count is never shown unless it was actually read.
