Scrap Racket
IN-GAME ECONOMY

Scrap Exchange

Spend the physical Scrap in your Rust inventory on building, electrical, farming, industrial, utility and recovery offers, inside the game.

Where the Scrap lives

  • In-game Scrap only.
  • No website wallet or bank.
  • No balance carried across a wipe.
  • No real-money conversion into Scrap.
  • No website button that spends Scrap.
  • No transfer between servers.

Physical Scrap can be stolen in a raid and wipes with the map. That risk is intentional.

How to open it

/srOr click the corner button. /exchange opens the same panel.

The Exchange, contracts and settings are tabs in one panel. Open it with the corner button or by typing /sr, and turn the button off in the settings tab if you would rather not have it on screen.

Only the Scrap you are carrying counts: your main inventory, belt and clothing slots. Scrap in a box, a locker or a stash does not, which keeps a stockpile worth raiding.

What is on sale

  • RECOVERY
  • BUILDING
  • ELECTRICAL
  • INDUSTRIAL
  • FARMING
  • UTILITY
  • EXTRACTION

Kits of tools, building materials, wiring, pipes, planters, diving and medical supplies and fuel. Extraction is your own Mining Quarry or Pump Jack, one of each per wipe.

How an offer works

The offer screen in game shows every one of these before you buy.

  1. PRICEMost offers cost more each time you buy them again in the same wipe. Every step of the price is listed before the first purchase.
  2. LIMITEach offer has a purchase limit for the wipe, and the offer shows how many you have used.
  3. TIERSome offers open only once you reach a spend tier.
  4. TIMINGAn offer can open part-way through the wipe. The late-wipe catch-up pack opens a week in, for players who start late.
  5. SPACEA purchase needs free inventory slots for everything in it. Without them nothing is taken.

Spend tiers

SCAVENGERDEALEROPERATORKINGPIN

Your tier follows the Scrap you have spent this wipe: Dealer from 1,500, Operator from 5,000, Kingpin from 15,000. A tier opens more offers. It never buys combat power or a discount, and every tier resets with the map wipe.

What the Exchange will not sell

  • C4, rockets and explosive ammunition.
  • Large sulfur or gunpowder bundles.
  • Top-tier weapons and large ammunition bundles.
  • Damage or health boosts.
  • Raid protection.

What resets monthly

Physical Scrap, spend counters, tiers and purchase limits all reset with the map wipe. Blueprints do not.

Spent this wipe is progress, not a balance. Scrap lives in your inventory and nowhere else. It resets with the monthly map wipe.
